An exciting opportunity exists within our growing allied health team for a talented and motivated Occupational Therapist.  The position on offer is for part time or full time hours.  The position will undertake continuation of development of this new service within our organisation, with the occasional assistance of a contracting OT.

Momentum supports clients with injuries and disabilities to achieve their personal goals.  The team provides advanced rehabilitation techniques and specialises in the manufacture and fitting of medical bracing and prosthetic limbs. 

The ideal applicants will enjoy a varied workload with clients of all ages and functional levels.  They will be someone who can work effectively, efficiently and independently within a team of clinical care providers.  They will be motivated to grow with the business to provide a unique and high quality service.  They have experience in Occupational Therapy in the community and are able to provide home visits and home modification assessments. They will also be compassionate to the needs of our client groups.

The successful applicant must have a passion for professional skills development and continued advancement of the practice.  An interest in integrating technology advancements into clinical service delivery is also desirable.  

This opportunity is open to experienced Occupational Therapists only.

Main tasks

·     Assessment and management of people with disabilities

·     Provide evidence based treatment to a range of clients

·     Develop goal oriented treatment plans for complex clients

·     Provide training in the use of assistive technologies

·     Report writing for funding providers including insurers and the NDIS

·     Work collaboratively with other health professions internally and externally

Minimum Requirements

·     Degree in Occupational Therapy

·     Registration to AHPRA

THE ROLE

Due to growth within our business we are currently looking for fully registered Occupational Therapists looking for community work in and around Wagga Wagga, Temora, Leeton and Junee, NSW

NEW GRADS ARE WELCOMED!

This position will see you working within the community which is a growing area and allows our clinicians to work both within aged care facilities and within people’s homes. We work with case managers, clients and their families to achieve the goals of the clients.



HOW IT WORKS:

You receive a referral from our schedulers based on where you have indicated you will travel
You get to see and review the referral and ensure its within your scope and you have time to complete and undertake follow up
We ask that you respond with a yes or no to a referral within 24 hours of receiving it
We offer flexibility as in you are not obliged to pick up any referral and we cannot guarantee you any number of referrals in your desired location. Its mutually flexible and this is a benefit to the candidate as it works well within their own work lives and other employment


You can combine current work or personal commitments with a rewarding casual/contract position at one of our great sites!

The Role

Reporting to the Team leader ACT, you will work in a small team, for a variety of clients in both the private and public sector. Involving local travel, this role is a blend of specific one of assessments such as ADL’s, rehabilitation consultancy, account management and quality assurance.

Duties

  • Worksite Assessments including ADL’s
  • Pre-Employment Medicals
  • Ergonomic assessments & JTAs
  • Rehabilitation Case Management for clients
  • Single Service Assessments including functional assessments
  • Negotiating positive outcomes for multiple stakeholders
  • Assist injured workers return to suitable paid employment
  • Facilitating independence in workers to return to work

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)ESSA.
  • Current Police Check (National Police Certificate) - or ability to obtain
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong report writing abilities
  • Excellent organisation & time management 
  • Sound computer literacy, ability to learn new software (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to work autonomously 
  • A positive, solution-focused outlook with a sense of humour
